Aerospace Consulting has decades of experience in circuit board design and layout, especially RF layout. One of the most critical aspects of prototype development, especially if it involves RF circuit design, is circuit board layout. Aerospace consulting has been involved in RF layout for over 3 decades, and we have been involved in the layout of circuits for prototype development and new product design to frequencies that exceed 20 GHz.
Aerospace Consulting is an RF and microwave development company that provides, among other services, RF circuit design and microwave circuit design services at frequencies up to 26.5 GHz. One critical aspect to those RF consulting services includes RF layout, along with RF simulation. Along with RF simulation tools such as Keysight (formerly Agilent) Genesys and SystemVue, we have the Altium Designer suite which is not only useful for RF layout and other circuit board layout, but also provides us with the Altium Designer simulation platform. This is useful for embedded C and C++ code, but also for the development of FPGA solutions. Also, our SystemVue software is useful for generating C, C++, and FPGA code. Aerospace Consulting also has the Altium Designer NanoBoard for FPGA development using Xilinx FPGAs.
While Aerospace Consulting uses Altium Designer, today, for circuit board layout, we used PCAD for over 20 years. We still have virtually every version of PCAD that came out since 1983. (Although it would take us a day or so to put together a working computer that used some of those ancient 8-1/2 inch floppy disks.) But, if you have a moderately (late 90's vintage) PCAD design that you need modified, we can work with you, and save you a lot of money because we can work with the original files without having to convert them to Altium Designer or some other platform like most companies would have to do.
Aerospace Consulting also has the Altium Nanoboard. This is a complete development system for embedded applications and product design and development. Ours is set up for Xilinx FPGAs. It also supports embedded programming in C. With an FPGA, you can often replace a whole circuit board's worth of discrete components, such as microprocessors, memory, and other devices, with a single chip. This reduces both space, weight, and power consumption. Plus, it makes your design a bit more difficult for your competitors to duplicate.
